According to someone on Twitter, "Square Enix's new Final Fantasy is nothing but a Souls-like", meaning "Square Enix's new Final Fantasy is nothing more than a Souls-like ".
Of course, I wouldn’t share it any claims of mysterious francophones passing by SoulsHunt. This rumor has some support: Fanbyte he says it has sources confirming the truth of the rumor and that the game may be called "Final Fantasy Origin."
According to Fanybyte, Origin "seems" to be a PlayStation 5 exclusive, but will receive a PC version some time after the PS5 version. Both Fanbyte and the Twitter leaker say it is being developed by Team Ninja and will be similar Nioh, that is, a bit like Dark Souls. (Specifically, Fanbyte says that the Team Ninja group that developed it did Dissidia Final Fantasy NT, a group in which some Nioh developers mingled.) Fanbyte also says the game will be "more accessible" than others in the genre, and SoulsHunt says that, unlike Dark Souls games, it will have difficulty setting up.
Final Fantasy Origin is reportedly part of Square Enix's E3 presentation, so we should have details directly from the source in June, if it exists, at least. I have no source of my own to confirm the rumor, but it is almost unreasonable that Team Ninja was working on another Final Fantasy game.
We know for sure that Square Enix is participating in E3 2021, although the company has not yet announced a date for the live broadcast. When you do, you’ll find it on our E3 2021 press conference agenda (with only a couple of full announcements so far, it’s a work in progress).
