There's nowhere to hide from the new Apex Legends character, the "stealth-oriented" Seer tracker. The following legend was unveiled today during the live broadcast of EA Play 2021 as part of the upcoming season of Apex, which is called Emergency. The game will arrive on Monday, but for now, we have a very colorful animated short featuring the new season, the new Rampage LMG and some upcoming changes to the World’s Edge map.
Seer is the first new Apex tracker legend since Bloodhound, which has been around since its release. With an army of tracking drones embedded in his chest, Seer can send minions to find and track targets with his Tactical, which sounds a bit similar to the Bloodhound effect area movement tracker. More interesting to me is the passive Seer, a heartbeat sensor I use looking down. I think that means you can roughly know where your enemies are hiding Yes he points in his direction, which seems quite orderly.
The most intimidating part of his kit is easily the last one, which sends hundreds of Seer microdrons to form a huge dome perimeter. Anyone moving around the perimeter will need to move slowly (it’s unclear if that means bending over or just not running) or being revealed through the walls to Seer and his team. The perimeter will also capture enemy footsteps, although it is not yet clear whether this information is transmitted to Seer.
We’ll know more after the July 26 game revelation (and even more so when we can play Emergence), but according to the description, Seer sounds like a very useful addition to a team.
Today's EA playback stream also includes updates from Battlefield 2042, Knockout City, and a new Grid game. Here it is how to watch EA Play and what else to expect.
