Last week’s beta version of Back 4 Blood was mostly well-received, with the exception of one unusual drawback: it was sometimes possible to hear itinerant undead screaming what seemed extremely like a racial insult. Twitter user HomBKE apparently he was the first to introduce it, however other images has followed and, yes, definitely sounds like the word n.

When the word n is noticed in your game, it would not be useful to address it. Turtle Rock has released a statement on the subject today, virtually confirming what many people already suspected: that it is an unfortunate peculiarity of handling the game of random grunting of zombies.
"There is a known beta issue where the system combines various randomly mounted grunt sound effects to create what sounds like an offensive insult," explains the official Twitter account Back 4 Blood he tweeted. "Despite being involuntary, we take it very seriously and deeply regret the damage or injury this may have caused. This issue will be resolved before release."
Zombies shouting racial insults are probably the worst possible outcome if you rely on a machine to generate your sound effects. But maybe we should stop trusting computers: even AI can’t help but turn into hateful idiots.
Back 4 Blood managed to build up 100,000 simultaneous players during its beta release last week, before its final release on October 12th.
