Crossfire is a popular competitive FPS in Asia, particularly in China and South Korea, but has only recently begun to penetrate Western markets: Remedy is developing a single-player campaign for CrossfireX, although unfortunately not yet confirmed for PC.
However, a new addition to the series that is definitely coming to us is Crossfire: Legion, a brand new RTS developed by the Blackbird Interactive studio of Homeworld 3.
A strategy for the shooting series is a surprise, but it's a good choice for Blackbird, which was founded by former members of the Homeworld Relic Entertainment studio. The first launch of the study was the excellent RTS of 2015 Homeworld: Deserts of Kharak and most recently created the very promising space junk simulator Hardspace: Shipbreaker.
"Crossfire, which is introduced across multiple platforms and genres, is becoming a world-class IP and is now being reinvented as RTS," said Ina Jang, CEO of the original Crossfire developer and publisher. Smilegate Entertainment. "Crossfire: Legion is not only for players who have previously enjoyed the original Crossfire, but it also appeals to any player who wants to experience a classic RTS experience reinvented in a modern time."
Crossfire: Legion will be released by Koch Media’s new Prime Matter label, and is expected to come out sometime in 2022. There’s not much to see yet, but you can take a look at a couple of screenshots below.
