Cyberpunk 2077 "will live up to what we promised," says cd projekt boss

CD Projekt President and CEO Adam Kiciński today reiterated his recent commitment to Cyberpunk 2077 during the company’s first quarter financial results, saying a significant portion of the development team continues to work on it, until and all as the studio itself prepares to move to a parallel development system in 2022.

“We intend to deliver on what we promised our players in January,” Kiciński said. "While we're already seeing significant improvements, a large part of the team continues to work to make sure Cyberpunk delivers even better entertainment to players."

The observation reflects Kiciński's comments in April, when he said the studio did not intend to wash its hands of Cyberpunk 2077. "We are convinced that we can bring the game to such a state. that we can be proud of and therefore sell successfully over the next few years, ”he said he said then.

In a question-and-answer session with investors, Kiciński said that "almost half" of the Cyberpunk development team continues to work on the currently available versions or the next generation editions, while more little ones have gone into pre-production on projects without notice. He declined to comment further, saying he did not want to "announce" anything in advance, perhaps reflecting the commitment the company made a couple of months ago to avoid showing off its games until they were close to launch thanks to Cyberpunk 2077 revealed. “But definitely, there are teams that are preparing for future projects without warning,” he said.

It will probably take some time before examining these projects, as Kiciński also reiterated that their transformation into parallel development will not take place until at least 2022.

“There are teams, smaller teams, in transformation, getting ready to work on that content,” he said. "Next year is the year we want to make discreet teams and work on a large scale, of course, depending on the project and the different phases of future triple A content."
