Its history dates back to 1995, when DreamWorks Interactive was formed. He became CEO of DICE LA and will continue to lead the studio now called Ripple Effect. Vince Zampella, co-founder of Respawn Entertainment, also began overseeing DICE LA in January 2020.

This is his own interesting ripple: Zampella helped lead the development of the 2002 Medal of Honor: Allied Assault, which was published by EA but not developed by EA Los Angeles. After that, he co-founded Infinity Ward and started the Call of Duty series, and in 2010 he dropped with Activision and co-founded Respawn, which was bought by EA in 2017 and recently released a Medal of Honor VR game. The name change and the unannounced game plan were the two expected developments, as Zampella said they would be happening in 2020. Still, it represents an important pivot for the studio. When DICE LA was founded, the studio manager at the time told IGN that "it was an additional flat in Stockholm, conveniently located in Los Angeles," a part of DICE, not its own. Now, Grass says the studio has developed its "own way of doing things" and plans to grow as it establishes its own identity.

We don't know anything about the unpredictable game that Ripple Effect is working on, but we've heard a bit about its secret Battlefield 2042 mode. EA describes it as a "love letter" to fans of the Battlefield series, and it will be revealed on EA Play Live on July 22nd. Rumor has it that this is a sandbox mode with maps, weapons and vehicles from the entire history of Battlefield. .

Grass and Zampella will appear on an EA live broadcast called The Future of FPS this Thursday, July 8, during which EA says they will "leave tips" on Ripple Effect's Battlefield 2042 mode. It will air at 10 a.m. in the Pacific EA Twitch Channel.
