The upgrade of amd's zen 3 cpu is about expanded manufacturing, not performance

If you have an AMD Ryzen processor, a new package of chipset drivers is now available that covers about a dozen platforms. The release notes aren’t as detailed, but AMD at least makes it clear that it contains “critical security solutions” for its platform security processor (PSP) technology.

It refers to the specialized hardware that AMD has been integrating into its processors for the past eight years, including the latest Ryzen chips. Also called AMD security technology, it consists of an arm-based coprocessor with capabilities similar to Intel's management engine (IME). Both handle various low-level functions.
