In space, no one can hear you talk about your science fiction role-playing dolmen. But Gamescom is not in space and tonight we received our first update on a Soulsy sci-fi adventure that launched on Kickstarter in 2018.
Dolmen's latest trailer, which appears during the Future Games Show, is the setting for your usual sci-fi disaster. There’s a shitty research station, which requires an astronaut turned exterminator to wield an arsenal of axes, weapons, and increasingly silly space magic to rescue.
Despite being formally introduced this year, Dolmen game images made the rounds on the shows in 2019, showing 30 minutes of our future space man cutting spiders apart with an ax and a shield, using weapons to freeze enemies before entering the bar. Tonight’s images showed us a much more dynamic game in recent years, using a lot of firearms and strange weapons to dance around enemies, causing devastating state effects before entering to kill.
More importantly, it looks like fashion will be a crucial part of the Dolmen, with dresses ranging from chic military space to chitinous shells still dripping from your insectoid enemies.
Dolmen is being released by Prime Matter, a new label announced earlier this year that includes Payday 3 and a new Painkiller game. Dolmen is released Steam some next year.
