While the official launch of AMD’s RX 6600 XT has not yet taken place, that hasn’t stopped the third-party retailer AIO from listing a GPU MSI AMD Radeon RX 6600 XT Gaming X (now down) for the whopping $ 1,199 in Newegg over the weekend and most of Monday before the page was murdered.
Considering that the performance of the RX 6600 XT should be between the RTX 3060 ($ 329) and the RTX 3060 Ti ($ 399), AMD has already confirmed that the RX 6600 XT, also known as "the beast 1080p ", will sell for $ 379.
So with that in mind, $ 1,200 seems a bit pricey. Since it is a difficult time to buy a graphics card, you can imagine that someone may give in to the temptation to pull the trigger and pay above the normal price. That said, at the time of shipment from China, the RX 6600 XT will be sure to be available worldwide, so it might not be worth it.
The product listing increased $ 100 after a tipster first spotted it over the weekend to $ 1,100 Videocardz. It also raises the question of how a third-party vendor can list, sell, and presumably ship a product that has not yet been officially launched.
We will make sure to see if the listing reappears with luck with a more realistic price.
