Free will against determinism is one of the smallest philosophical debates. It’s also easy to see in action: how often is the answer to overly simplified advice, “it’s not that easy: I don’t really have that option”. May be technically be there, but there is a network of other factors involved.
This is what highlights the trailer for the upcoming visual novel Dull Gray, which moves through the landscapes around it. Have you ever made a choice? Were they really free in your decision or do you have to settle for what they gave you? Did you do it at the right time or at the right time for someone else? And most importantly, was there really any option to choose from?

Dull Gray follows the story of a mother and son who seek happiness in a retrofuturistic dystopia, while repeatedly making the same choice: in whom should the child be? While the description says it may not seem like a choice, it promises to be full of depth, designed to be reproduced with multiple endings, so when you know the answer to this old debate, let the rest know.
Dull Gray is available on the wish list Steam, where it is scheduled to be released on September 8th.
