Here, and one of the main ones 2022 games has appeared on Steam.
We had no indication that Elden Ring was an Epic exclusive. In fact, looking back at the thrilling E3 trailer, you can see (behind all the decaying monuments and monsters of many members) that the trailer images ended with the Steam logo sitting next to a garden of 'other platform emblems. So we knew in June, no doubt, that it would hit Steam. Case closed.
Still, in this era of epic payment continued hundreds of millions to secure dozens of timed exclusives, it seemed like the possibility that Epic Games Store could take over the rights to the biggest game of 2022. The appearance of an official Steam page this week now completely puts it up for grabs.
For the Elden Ring chat community, the Steam page has been a small milestone, another domino on the way to release, an opportunity for Elden Ring to climb the Most desired graphics, where Dying Light 2, New World and Battlefield 2042 are at the top of the current podium. This community, famous for its insatiability, has already managed to playfully contaminate the list of tags on the Steam page, tagging the action-RPG with terms such as Dating Sim, Walking Simulator, Relaxing and other sarcastic identifiers (some of which have already been removed). It’s kind of a baptism, really. Labeling Steam games with inaccurate tags is a well-established tradition at this point.
One thing we still expect from Elden Ring is the system requirements, which have not been announced. Sekiro, an FromSoftware game that was released on Steam in 2019, had the following recommended system requirements:
- OS: 64-bit Windows 7 | 64-bit Windows 8 | 64-bit Windows 10
- Processor: Intel Core i5-2500K | AMD Ryzen 5 1400
- Memory: 8 GB of RAM
- Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970 | AMD Radeon RX 570
- DirectX: version 11
- Network: Broadband Internet connection
- Storage: 25 GB of available space
- Sound card: DirectX 11 compatible
