Fermi's paradox is a science fiction strategy game called, and somehow based on, Fermi's real-life paradox, which reflects on the contradiction between the apparent probability of alien in the galaxy (there is a lot of stars and planets out there) and the fact that we haven’t seen any evidence of it yet. The goal is to guide up to ten different civilizations through eons of history, from basic survival to (hopefully) first contact with other life forms.
It’s a very big kind of game, which is what I find appealing: instead of micromanaging things like road design and crop harvests, you’ll make decisions that set out general directions for growth and development, and then you sit and you will expect better. Developer Anomaly Games claims that its goal is to create "motivating, inspiring and progressive games", and storytelling is obviously an important part of that.
"Each final game will become a unique interstellar saga," Fermi's paradox Steam page he says. "From the first decision on what life forms will evolve to becoming species-wise, there will be numerous choices that determine the history and values of this civilization, from their views on sexuality and religion. to the treatment of the weakest members of society. "
To help him achieve the brand, Anomaly has added four veteran writers to the project: Cara Ellison and Brian Mitsoda, formerly senior narrative designer and lead writer for Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2, as well as Jana Sloan van Geest, past credits , including Horizon: Zero Dawn – The Frozen Wilds and Assassin's Creed: Origins, and Jedidjah Julia Noomen, who has previously worked on High-Frequencies and the Fabulous series.
Anomaly also announced that The Fermi Paradox will be released on Steam Early Access on July 1 and will show the game on Steam Next Fest with live plays, new announcements and a publicly available demo. You can see the Fermi paradox up close fermi-paradox.com.
Steam Next Fest starts on June 16 and lasts for a week. For a calendar of all the live events taking place this summer, including the E3 online presses and the Summer Game Fest, check out our full schedule of E3 2021.
