A group of dedicated fans have remade the 1994 classic LucasArts TIE Fighter with a frankly impressive effect, giving new life to the game for almost 30 years. Using the engine of the 1999 X-Wing Alliance, which gave new life to a major modification project to update this game, the creators of TIE Fighter: Total Conversion have redone the 13 campaigns and their training missions to offer the original experience redone in a much superior engine.
Between classic campaigns, about 104 missions and a new set of reinvented campaign missions, the mod has 145 unique missions to play. It also supports VR, courtesy of the X-Wing Alliance Upgrade project, and features a remastered and original MIDI soundtrack.
To boot the mod, you will need a copy of X-Wing Alliance, which is available at various sites where the games are sold GOG i Steam. You will also need X-Wing Alliance Update, a nice big mod in itself. You can find TIE Fighter: Total Conversion mod on their moddb page.
