Spiders, the team behind the GreedFall RPG action, is back with another game that really isn’t as wild as it sounds and IGN’s Summer of Gaming Expo gave us our first look at the engine. The thing? It's Steelrising, a role-playing game that reimagines the French Revolution as the French Revolution, but robots. Louis XVI has a damn army of automatons in this timeline.
You’ll play as Aegis, a member of the revolution, who I assume is the roof runner of the trailer. I have great vibes from Assassin’s Creed here, but it’s hard to extrapolate much more from this short clip. It’s very well lit and I’m not saying that just because Paris is clearly burning. I dig out the brightness of the cobblestones and all the details that can be distinguished in the dark. Steelrising looks good! The premise just seems like an artifice. Hopefully he has more stuff in his way of playing.
We will probably find out soon. There is no release date for Steelrising yet, but Spiders does looking for testers in March, which means it will probably be enough to show up in more detail soon after.
