As revealed today in the presentation of Rare’s Sea of Thieves: A Pirate & # 39; s Life, the five new Tall Tales included in the Pirates of the Caribbean crossover will take place in new locations. Players will visit The Sea of the Damned, a kingdom full of pirate ghosts, and The Sunken Kingdom, an aqueous world full of mermaids (evil mermaids). The new adventure will also introduce several enemies of new crustaceans called ocean trackers who, unlike skeletons, can get on board your ship to attack you.
And, unlike the original Tall Tales series, you won’t have to worry about other players interfering with your progress. OtherTall Tales takes place on the open world map of Sea of Thieves, where other players can attack or kill you (or as happened to me and my friends, steal your ship) while you're busy to solve puzzles. When you enter these new locations in The Life of a Pirate, they will work as separate instances. It will be just you, your friends (if you play in a group) and the adventure, without any pain from the other players.
This is good news especially for solo players who can easily fall prey to other teams when trying to complete a Tall Tale. And Rare also says they have designed the new Tall Tales in A Pirate's Life so that solo players don't have to complete them. There will be checkpoints that will allow you to save your progress halfway through history and a difficulty that will scale with group size. Also, Jack Sparrow, who will be accompanying you on new adventures, will not only ride your ship dropping whimsical (with the voice of actor Jared Butler, who played Sparrow in Kingdom Hearts 3 and other games), but actually inside and help.
“It’s a great addition to have Jack Sparrow because not all players play Sea of Thieves in a large crew with other players,” said chief designer Andy Preston. "Some players feel more comfortable playing alone on a solo ship. But those players, when they play A Pirate & # 39; s Life, will have Jack Sparrow aboard the guns as they sail the ship."
The new features we hope will include a new weapon, the Dark Tide Trident, which can send a blast of magic at enemies. In the sunken Kingdom, your breathing will be easier thanks to the plants that release bubbles, which will allow you to fill your O2 underwater.
And players who complete the five Tall Tales will get a new sea bar that they can play with their instruments. If you’ve ever been to the Pirates of the Caribbean at Disneyland, you’ll probably recognize it.
The trident weapon and new enemies will also begin to appear on the map in Sea of Thieves once A Pirate & # 39; s Life arrives on June 22: The mermaids and ocean trackers that embark will not only be part of of the new adventure, but they will become part of the world itself.
