Revealed just before E3, Battlefield 2042 has already shown us in two of its three modes: the massive 128-player All-Out Warfare that draws attention, with an alternative danger zone that describes a smaller issue based on the template. But the third mode of 2042 has been kept secret, described only as a "love letter" for fans of the series.
With Henderson's discord previously leaked the name Battlefield 2042, this week's leaker suggested that this third mode is a nostalgic sandbox. Battlefield Hub, described as the "ultimate sandbox experience," will include remastering maps of the series' history, with weapons and vehicles from across the franchise (and the story) appearing in the same war zone.
"(My source) says this will not necessarily be a competitive experience or a balanced experience. Instead, this will be the best sandbox experience when players can just have fun."
The gameplay is supposedly a direct tear from 2042, with the mind, with game specialists replacing any previous class system. The video also delves a little deeper into Hazard Zone, which Henderson claims will be free to play with battle passes and seasons, compared to his game with adjacent Battle Royale games like Escape from Tarkov.
Henderson stresses that these leaks come with a “huge pile of salt,” mind you. While his previous leaks may be fairly accurate, he notes that many of his sources were unable to back up his evidence and that those previous reports presented more substantial evidence.
