Microsoft didn’t spend too much time on Halo at this year’s E3 conference, but it debuted our first look at multiplayer which moved me a lot. It looks like Halo, classic Halo, but with a lot of fun stuff like hooks and new vehicles. Joseph Staten of Microsoft, a longtime Bungie developer who joined 343 Industries late last year to help ship Halo Infinite, also took to the stage to talk a bit about the game, but not to announce a release date.
Infinite is a few months away, but us yet i don't know when it will arrive, exactly, Staten just said the single player and multiplayer will throw "this party" together.
Microsoft released a short clip of the new Halo ring, showing a snippet of the environment. It then became a single-player cut scene showing a new character: a new AI that looks and sounds very similar to Cortana, which overflowed in the last game of the game. series (this means it's the bad thing now).
Or is she? This Halo Infinite scene implies that Cortana is dead, but surely more seems to be happening.
"The rogue AI known as Cortana has disappeared. It has been erased," says the new AI. When the boss asks him how, he and the new AI realize what is going on. "The mission has changed. They always do," Chief says. This nude-Cortana looks like she’s going to be our head companion on Infinite.
