At the same time, it’s amazing and horrible to see all the ways people use Minecraft these days, but I’m not sure what category it falls into “sweeping an entire world with a vicious army of tiny axolotls”.
YouTuber GrayStillPlays is no stranger to doing the weirdest things with Minecraft, as it has a whole series dedicated to breaking the game in all sorts of ways. Still, this is my favorite, with Gray aiming to take his horde of amphibians and use them to kill the ender dragon.
An axolotl joins his army every 30 seconds, and each eventually rises in level and acquires new skills; they quickly go from being adorable walking fish to terrifying monsters, capable of shooting arrows and causing massive explosions with a simple blow of their little teeth. Things get tough when Gray tries to switch with some piglets to look for ender pearls, with the axolotls seemingly so thirsty for blood that they start killing everything they see. But he gets it, and it’s really impressive to see how quickly the dragon inside falls at the end of it all.
It’s not a challenge or a fast race, but it’s still a lot of fun. I always like to see people play games to create new and interesting experiences, and that's no different. It's worth watching for yourself how these killer critters evolve.
