A new Mass Effect Legendary Edition mod has been re-added to Miranda Lawson's infamous butt shots, and was created by the same person who took them out of the original games a few years earlier.
Modder Scottina123 originally took the rather unnecessary rear view camera photographs No More Butt Shots mod in September 2018 (thank you, Polygon). “Positioning the camera for Miranda’s previous loyalty mission always bothered me,” says her description of the mod. "She just let you into, possibly, her biggest secret and all the camera does, by focusing on her behind it, is sexualize her at a key point in the character's development."
The shots Scottina123 removed took place during an emotionally heavy scene between Miranda and Shepard, where she talks about concerns for her family’s safety. Instead of focusing on her face or Shepard's worried expressions, the camera decides that her ass is the pinnacle of an evocative cinematography. Bioware seemed to agree that the choice of angles was a bit blatant, deciding to rethink them for the legendary edition of this year’s trilogy.
It now looks like Scottina123 is playing on both sides of the field, putting aside his views on the back of 2018 in favor of releasing modifications that add camera cuts to the Legendary Edition. There is an independent mode to restore shots to both Mass Effect 2 i Mass Effect 3. This time, the modder has fewer things to say, calling it "a very simple mod that restores the ass kicks that Bioware removed." While I probably don't need to see Miranda's ass while sincerely sharing her family's problems, at least it's a good choice.
If Miranda is not your favorite in Normandy, you can always welcome yourself with the recently reissued Garrus and Tali body pillows; i myself am more a fan of the bad guy from Turian.
