In May, Obsidian said it was slowing the pace of grounded updates so it could focus on reducing "more significant" content. Today we saw what that means with a trailer for the upcoming update, called Shroom and Doom.
Shroom and Doom will add pets to the game, which are always a nice touch and the ability to sit, which I find a little less important, but apparently it’s something the players have really been asking for. Mushroom castles will be something you can build, and success will be added to the upgrade.
Arachnophiles will especially appreciate the addition of the Breeding Mother, a massive spider (though not really that massive, you’re very, very small) who doesn’t really seem to appreciate your presence on stage. Luckily for non-fans of this, Grounded has a "safe mode of arachnophobia" and you'll probably want to turn it on.
On the Ground: Shroom and Doom will be released on June 30th.
