Silent Hills still keeps people awake at night, and for good reason: the canceled survival horror had to be directed by Hideo Kojima and Guillermo del Toro, to star Norman Reedus and his playable show P.T. it was so terrifying that it has spawned hordes of clones. When Kojima left Konami in 2015, he said he would "continue to develop the Silent Hill series," but there has been no further word since.
Fast forward to 2021 and Silent Hill is everywhere. Konami is reportedly planning two new Silent Hill games, and Bloobi Team, of the Medium studio, is believed to be one of them; has not ruled out. Bloober Team went in a "strategic cooperation agreement" with Konami earlier this year.
Konami's rumored Silent Hill games may have nothing to do with the canceled Silent Hills, but a new Instagram post by Norman Reedus is making fans speculate again, poor souls. Represents Reedus with a skeleton next to him Robbie the Rabbit, the terrifying mascot of Silent Hill 3’s Lakeside Amusement Park. The short-loop video is distorted and obscured by harsh strobe light.
Great warning: the following short video shows flashing lights quickly and can be dangerous for some readers.
Whether or not Silent Hills exists right now is anyone’s guess, but Reedus at least doesn’t want us to forget it or else he loves this effective rabbit. The Silent Hill subreddit is almost sold out for the whole thing. “What’s really going on,” one user writes. Another, simply, "no. "
As an aside, people still think Abandoned is a secret Kojima project, or at least something Kojima is working on. Studio Blue Box Games has denied it, but frankly, the latest tweet he is not doing them any favors.
