Firaxis, a longtime XCOM developer, is working on a "turn-based action game" with Marvel heroes, according to a new rumor. With the code name "CODA", the Redditor writes that “famous actors” will give voice to the characters, implying that they could be linked more to recent Marvel movies than the Square Enix Marvel Avengers.
It's a rumor and has not yet been confirmed, although journalist Jason Schreier, who has broken several industry stories on Bloomberg and Kotaku, did give some credit to Twitter. "Yes, this 2K leak is real, but I'm not sure everything is at E3." He wrote. "But I can't wait for Marvel XCOM."
According to the same alleged leak, a new derivation of Borderlands starring Tiny Tina is also being developed and will be revealed at E3 this month. It makes some sense: the head of the gearbox, Randy Pitchford, strongly hinted at a new Borderlands game only last month. The leaker writes that the game could be called Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands and will play similarly to previous Borderlands games.
What else? Well, there’s going to be a new NBA game this year (duh), but there’s also a whole new project called Codename Volt. The leaker's source considers that "Cthulhu complies with Saints Row."
All the rumors still, but with E3 2021 just around the corner, the full details are likely to be very close and Schreier’s comment gives a lot of credibility to the XCOM rumor. Both Take-Two Interactive and Gearbox will host their own live broadcasts as part of the event on June 12 and 14, respectively.
