When I think of games that have sporting potential, Stardew Valley is very close to the bottom of the list. But it’s happening, with developer ConcernedApe announcing the first official Stardew Valley Cup.
The competition, which is in collaboration with streamer UnsurpassableZ, will feature four teams of “some of Stardew’s most dedicated players” who will be heading for a $ 40,000 prize pool. Competitors feature plenty of figures from the Stardew Valley community, including the like SharkyGames, popular Sims YouTuber lilsimsie i Matthew McCleskey, which you may recognize for its wonderful funny Stardew cartoons.
In collaboration with @UnsurpassableZ, I am pleased to announce the official 1st Stardew Valley Cup. It is a competition of skill, knowledge and teamwork, with an endowment of more than $ 40,000. See some of Stardew’s most dedicated players in their article. The main event is on September 4, at 9 a.m. PST pic.twitter.com/qtDW5e5LvDAugust 21, 2021
In a video explaining the competition, Unsurpassable Z said there will be “over 100 different challenges exploring all parts of the Stardew Valley,” and each offers a different number of points depending on their difficulty. They range from relatively easy goals like naming your horse Sprout, to harder goals like completing the entire community center or reaching the 100th floor of the skull cavern.
Many of the competing streamers already have a good knowledge of speedrunning, challenges and game minimization, so it will be interesting to see how they work by working together as a team and using that knowledge to get as many points as possible. ConcernedApe and Insuperable also comment on the whole issue, as the $ 40,000 prize pool comes directly from the developer.
The cup starts September 4th a 12 noon ET / 17:00 BST. You can see the commented version in UnsurpassableZ & # 39; s Contraction channel which will give an overview of the four teams, or you can tune each streamer individually through their respective channels.
