He Steam Open World Sale it’s up and running now, with discounts on hundreds of games built around open world environments [you guessed it]. This includes exploration games, builders, sandboxes and survival: if you can walk freely inside, chances are good, it’s already on sale.
Here are some good things, including a handful of suggestions gathered in a hurry:
I don’t know if there’s a direct connection [RTS games aren’t the most obvious fit with an open world sale], but the start of the new sale coincides with a gift from the WW2 RTS Company of Heroes 2 and autonomous expansion Assault on the Ardennes, which are free to carry out and are kept until 31 May. Ardennes Assault features a non-linear campaign on a dynamic map, which is perhaps a bit more extensive as open world connections occur, but it’s good enough for me, mostly because it’s free.
The Steam Open World Sale runs until 10 a.m. on May 31. You can access the action correctly here.
