The 2007 free throw Team Fortress 2 has hit a new number of players of all time, with 151,253 people online on the UTC afternoon. Today's counts are similar, with a maximum of more than 147,000 online players. This high follows a similar rise to the record high in December last year.
The rise of players comes after the game received a big hit against robots affecting the lobbies of Team Fortress 2. This same update introduced a cosmetic case for the summer of 2021: TF2 was one of the first games in have these things, you may remember. The case has 18 new items and six new unusual effects, all made by the TF2 community.
The update, although it appears to have broken many TF2 server modifications, has generally been well received by the community. It’s a good thing to see that what it may have been the most influential multiplayer shooter of the 21st century, not only available, but thriving, into a new decade.
