For a world that is already time travel, extradimensional cubes, mechanical fights and naked bananas, one might think that an alien invasion would be trivial for Fortnite. And yet, with season 7 arriving today: the invasion has unleashed UFOs all over the island to provoke a new alien carnage attack.
Starting today, the most prominent additions to Invasion are these flying saucers. Throwing yourself on the map by shooting at players, throwing one of them down, or getting on top of one will allow you to get behind the wheel, turning these alien weapons on your opponents.
These UFOs also drop Nuts & Bolts when destroyed, which can be used to upgrade weapons (turning an assault rifle into an RA blast, for example). This is alongside a whole host of new alien and experimental weapons spread across the map.

Then, of course, there’s this season’s battle pass. The most important of this occasion is a customizable "Kymera" suit, which allows you to unlock pieces to build your own alien throughout the season. The trailer also finally lifts the lid Cross n Ricky Morty, with a skin of Rick who is overstepping the bounds of the cartoon hatter Fortnite has been playing for a long time. He is accompanied by Superman, who plays the role of this season as a "good" alien.
While not explicitly shown, Season 7 should also have provided a major graphic review to Fortnite. Playing the “Epic” setting should now show more sophisticated effects of smoke, water, fire and particles, along with better processing and shadows.
