The first free content update for the medieval battle simulator Chivalry 2 is titled House Galencourt, which adds two new maps, a new mode, more than 60 new customization elements, and the return of a favorite feature for fans of the original game. Below you can see a new trailer for the update.

In the update you will find Galencourt, a new team goal map. "The Masonic army lays a brutal siege on the great walled city of Galencourt," the press release says. "He captures the great walled fortifications, exploits the ships of the port, and desecrates the relics and tomb of Feydrid." The bright white castle and the surrounding city look great in the trailer, but I wouldn’t want to be the medieval serf in charge of cleaning up the bloodstains.
The update also adds a new 3v3 mode, Arena, which is exactly what it looks like. “Experience more competitive, smaller-scale battles with a focus on teamwork,” says developer Torn Banner. "Arena mode can be played on special versions of 3 maps: tournament grounds, wrestling pits and the new yard map." Sounds like a fun way to team up with friends and hone your fighting skills away from the chaos of a full-size regular battle.
But the highlight of the House Galencourt update is the return of Arrow Cam. As in the original game, you can shoot an arrow and follow its path as it climbs towards an enemy and is embedded in its skull. Or on a wall, if you miss it, which is not so cinematic. Yeah Al that sounds pretty crap to me, Looks like BT aint for me either. Just make sure no one with a sword is near you when you activate it.
If you've ever missed Chivalry 2, it's a happily brutal multiplayer game that tries to add people to medieval weapons. Earlier, Tyler has written about loving his random modes, and Rachel also wrote about why cut heads they are his favorite weapon in battle. Dirty.
The free upgrade of House Galencourt from Chivalry 2 is now available.
