The director of diablo 4, the top level designer and the wow designer are leaving blizzard

Diablo 4 game director Louis Barriga, top-level designer Jesse McCree and World of Warcraft designer Jonathan LeCraft are at Blizzard Entertainment. The news was first published by Kotaku and then confirmed by Activision Blizzard.

“We can confirm that Luis Barriga, Jesse McCree and Jonathan LeCraft are no longer in the company,” a representative said. "We have a deep and talented list of developers and have already assigned new leaders, if any. We are confident in our ability to continue to progress, deliver incredible experiences to our players and move forward to ensure a productive and safe work environment. For everything . "

A Blizzard source also told PC Gamer that senior developers are no longer in Blizzard's internal employee directory.

The news comes during a tumultuous month when Activision Blizzard reacts to a lawsuit from the state of California alleging that the company has sexist culture and widespread toxicity in the workplace.

Louis Barriga was a game director at Diablo 4 and has been with Blizzard for at least 15 years. He was previously a messaging and systems designer and a leading game designer at World of Warcraft. He participated in the development of The Burning Crusade, Warlords of Draenor, Wrath of the Lich King and Cataclysm, as well as in Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls.

Jesse McCree was a top level designer at Blizzard, working on Diablo 3 and several World of Warcraft expansions. McCree has been working since December 2005, according to his LinkedIn page. Apparently, he is the namesake of Overwatch's character, Jesse McCree, and his participation in the group chats of the "Cosby Suite". documented by Kotaku led some Overwatch fans to ask for the character's name to be changed. McCree also has at least five characters in World of Warcraft that bear his name.

Jonathan LeCraft had also worked at Blizzard since 2005, working as a senior game designer for World of Warcraft. He has worked primarily in World of Warcraft since The Burning Crusade.

This situation is developing and PC Gamer has contacted Activision Blizzard to comment.
