Jess Margera, drummer for the rock band CKY and brother of the mainstay of the Bam Margera series, may have revealed that Activision is working on a new Pro Skater game from Tony Hawk.
As you saw VGC, Margera spoke with the Behind Closed Doors podcast on how to fund groups through tour contracts and licenses. Previously, CKY had a topic in Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 (the best) of 2001, and when asked about the band's history with the series, Margera told the interviewer that she believes they will also be "the new one that will come out".
Needless to say, CKY does not appear in last year's Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 + 2. Margera also makes it a bit clear that she’s talking about a different game, talking about how her son is already playing 1 + 2 on PS5. Nor would it be the first time a musician has leaked a Tony Hawk play; last year's remasterings were originally caused by a punk rock costume The whole of death.
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 + 2 was an amazing upgrade for a couple of 20-year-old shredders, and the suggestion that Activision might be working on a remake of Pro Skater 3 (or, in fact, a completely new entry) it is certainly fascinating. But there is still the question of who would develop it, after the publisher changed the position of THPS1 + 2 developer Vicarious Visions as a full-time Blizzard support studio.
Activision told VGC that it "does not comment on rumors or speculation."
