The live adaptation life is strange is still in production

Remember that in 2016, when Square Enix announced a live adaptation of the supernatural teen drama Life is Strange? Since then, we had heard little about the project, but producer Legendary has reminded us that the program still exists with the appointment of a new executive producer.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Legendary this week, singer-songwriter Shawn Mendez attached Life is Strange as executive producer. Along with Andrew Gertler, he will oversee the music for the teen series. Entertainment company Anonymous Content, which previously produced Netflix's 13 Reasons Why, has also joined the Life is Strange initiative.

The adaptation of Life is Strange has long been in the dark, commissioned a year after the first game entered the scene. But thanks to Netflix, video game TV adaptations are a bit in vogue, with the likes of The Witcher and Castlevania turning out to be surprisingly good series. It seems that this wave started the production of some silent productions, including those of Showtime Halo adaptation.

Square Enix's series of superpowered teenagers has continued since the deal. Life is Strange: True Colors introduces us to magical empathy in Haven Springs later this month, while a remastered collection of Life is Strange and Before the Storm will arrive sometime next year.
