The parents of the hacked children sued more than $ 780,000 for stolen cryptocurrency

In January 2018, Andrew Schober, a resident of Colorado, was relieved of 16.4 bitcoins, worth about $ 780,000 in the current market. After spending about $ 10,000 on private investigation fees, he is now suing the parents of the alleged perpetrators: two UK-based computer science students who were then minors.

Schober allegedly followed a link via Reddit to download a cryptocurrency wallet application called Electrum Atom, only to find that it was included with malware for the clipboard. According to KrebsonSecurity (via Futurism), the kids used this to remove the details from the cryptocurrency wallet and steal the bitcoins it had stored.
