I’ve seen a lot of mechanical games come and go in the past, but I’ve never seen anything as compelling as Wolfstride. The independent tactical mechanical RPG got a new trailer today during the Guerilla Collective Day 2 broadcast. Wolfstride seems to be a turn-based mechanical combat (presented with a comic book visual style that reminds me of Persona 5) and another novel. visual / RPG.
Mechanics aren't cheap, so a solid piece of the game seems to be going out into the world and doing weird work to enable the best mechanical components. Once you have everything you need, you can install parts and repair your own mechanism yourself and head to individual battles. It’s hard to analyze how the game’s 2D combat works from the brief trailer, but the changing positions on the screen reminded me a bit of Darkest Dungeon. .
I love a good rich cloth story, so I'm definitely going to introduce myself to Wolfstride. Developer OTA IMON Studios doesn’t have a release date to share yet, so it may still be quite a long way off.
