Aragami is a stealthy third-person game about an undead assassin who can become invisible, teleport through the shadows and summon weapons (and even a shadow dragon) in a fight to rescue the mysterious girl Yamiko from Kaiho, the army of light. Five years after its release in 2016, developer Lince Works has revealed that a sequel, Aragami 2, will arrive in September.
In Aragami 2, players will face off against the Akatsuchi Empire, which attempts to invade and destroy the Rashomon Valley. The full campaign can be played solo or cooperatively for up to three players and will feature “improved” stealth mechanics and a new combat system that, according to the developers, prioritizes a strategic battle approach.
"We've grown a lot since we worked on the original game, and as a larger studio, we have the opportunity to realize the full potential of Aragami with this sequel," said game director Lince Works. David León. "One of the things that really excites us is the new combat system that not only offers existing fans a new way to play, but welcomes new players with a more intense gaming experience to Aragami 2."
It remains to be seen — Lince Works said more about Aragami 2 will be revealed “very soon,” but it certainly looks great and in an elegant stealth game about cursed ninjas and demonic samurai, that’s worth a lot. Aragami 2 is scheduled to come out on September 17 and is now available for pre-purchase Steam. Learn more at linceworks.com.
