Simply put, the best gaming keyboards usually use mechanical key switches, of which there are many different types. The EVGA Z20 is one of the few that takes advantage of optical mechanical key switches and can be purchased today from Newegg for just $ 84.99.
This is a deep discount: it includes a price of $ 174.99, but if you enter a promo code 93XRD39 by paying, Newegg will get a $ 90 discount on the price. And in fact, it sells for its full MSRP in some places, like GameStop and directly from EVGA (not in stock on Amazon, but a look at its price history shows that it hovered around $ 155 during much time).

The EVGA Z20 RGB uses light beams to record keystrokes and has an extremely fast report speed (4,000 Hz). Just use the promo code 93XRD39 at the checkout to get the full discount.
Optical mechanical switches record keystrokes by interrupting a beam of light by pressing a key. This allows for instant and accurate input and eliminates the possibility of metal contact points failing over time as they are not used in an optical switch.
EVGA offers two types to the Z20: click and linear. The promotional code applies to the clicky version, which is the more audible of the two. It also has a different point of action (I prefer to change clicks, and the stronger the better).
Other features include dedicated media controls with a metal volume reel, a column of dedicated game keys, RGB lighting (per key and using light bars on either side), a 4K Hz information frequency (most keyboards are 1K Hz) and flight time detection system (there is a proximity sensor on the front that detects movement to wake up and sleep on the keyboard).
