Hot Wheels Unleashed will have a song editor, great news for anyone who wants to play it like a 21st century Acrobatics (jo). It is the exact editor used by Milestone to create the tracks outside the game box. You will choose an environment, leave the track, sprinkle it with reinforcement pads, obstacles and too loop-of-loops and then share it online with captivating compliments.

The video above gives you an overview of how the editor works, and if you're dedicated to creating tracks for Trackmania, you'll be familiar with it. The environments are the same as you will see in the main game, with obstacles in the oven, but otherwise you are free to go crazy. There’s also a blank slate environment called the Track Room, if you don’t like having to build around a giant skatepark or a humungous college campus.

The tracks can be customized according to their color schemes and there are a lot of items to use (promisingly, it looks like you can make giant booster pads). But rest assured that the tracks in the community will not be filled with impossible feats: in order to hang one, you must complete it.

Phil went practice with Hot Wheels Unleashed recently, writing that I remember the "glory days of the average budget runners," which is music to my ears.
