I love a fast-paced board game with few cards, just like everyone else. Police, kickstarting now, is one of those great little games that doesn't take long to play, but it is a lot of fun and adapts among other games. So you have one of a fairly well-regarded team of designers, virtuosos of the independent games behind games that you may have heard of such as Nuclear Tron, Minit, Sludge Life, Genital Jousting, Broforce, Ridiculous Fishing , Desktop Dungeons, etc.
Dustbiters is "a fast and furious card game about rival car gangs competing to overcome a giant dust storm," which is true as far as I've played it and it was fast and also made me infuriate me and / or the person I played against. Furious that they didn’t win. In each round, take action with vehicles you control that cause chaos, destroying enemy vehicles or saving your own from the dust storm it consumes by chasing your post-apocalyptic convoy.
I quite enjoyed the Dustbiters rounds I’ve played, at least enough to throw them in my stack of small card games to come out at convenient times. It’s the kind of game it would take me to camp out and buy a new graphics card, or wait in line at conventions.
You can find Dustbiters on Kickstarter.
