The Viking Valheim cooperative survival game has been a bit quiet lately. He last small update to modify the monster AI arrived on July 1 and since then there has been no peep from the developers. But Iron Gate Studios is back for the summer break with new information to share about the upcoming one Valheim Hearth and Home update, as well as some news about the studio itself.
All the Vikings craving you should take a look at your forts and start planning a new addition. When Hearth and Home arrives, you’ll want a new treasure room ready to be filled with loot, as you’ll be able to display all your gold. Write your money on stacks of gold coins, as trolls do, as well as build heaps of shiny, shiny coins.
And instead of storing the coins in a boring wooden box or stacked on the floor, a new treasure chest is added to the upgrade so you can show off your fabulous wealth in style. You can also create an iron grate so you can close your treasures and let other Vikings watch through the bars. Look, but don't touch.
It sounds funny, although I think the reason we all have a stock of coins is that there really isn’t that much to buy Valheim merchant, Haldor. Hopefully, in addition to stacking our coins, Hearth and Home or a future update will also give us something new to spend.
As for when Hearth and Home will reach us, say the developers "They are on track to deliver the update this quarter and, as always, thank you for your kindness and patience."
There’s also some compelling news that could mean Valheim updates will happen more often, because the small five-person studio has hired more hands. A new programmer, animator and quality control manager will start work next month. It’s always nice when a co-op crew gets a few new teammates.
