Look at. If Deep Space 9 taught me anything, it’s that you can’t have a bad space station without a little gameplay. So it is with Citizen Sleeper, a risk-based role-playing game where you roll the dice every time you get up in the morning.
Citizen Sleeper, revealed during today's PC Gaming show, is a dice-laying game like Dicey Dungeons or Tharsis. At the beginning of each cycle, you roll a set of dice, which can be included in different events or challenges. You will have to decide for yourself which events have priority as you go through this stellar mystery.
All of this takes place at The Eye, a massive, bustling resort, full of bars, markets, docks and inner neighborhoods. As sleepy, from time to time you wake up to take on strange jobs, but each cycle you also have a chance to escape. As you press the system, you will not only face the authorities who are persecuting you, but also your own failed body, designed as it was with a "planned obsolescence."
It’s all painted in bold, comic colors, neon-toned characters coated against a cheeky utility station, and the vast nothingness of space. The world of Citizen Sleeper wants to explore role-playing games in the ruins of intergalactic capitalism, hoping that one day this may escape completely.
Citizen Sleeper will hit PC in 2022.
