While Valve says it's taking special steps to keep robots and resellers from getting their hands on their new handheld PC, the Steam Deck, if you want to get one this year, you'll probably need to move quickly. There are now open reservations for laptops and we don’t think they will last long.
You can book at Steam Deck starting today, July 16, at 10 a.m. PT / 1 pm EDT / 6 pm BST / 7 pm CEST using the Steam shop. However, this only applies to people with Steam accounts who made a purchase before June 2021.
For anyone who has not yet made a Steam account or made any qualifying purchases, reservations will be available starting Sunday, July 18th.
You will have to pay a booking fee of $ 5 (£ 4), which will put you in line for a Steam Deck. Once a Steam Deck is available, users will receive an email in December in the order in which they made the reservation. First come, first served, so it's best not to break
Who knows how long it will take Valve to review what is sure to be a long list of reservations.
Reservations will only be available to customers in the United States, Canada, the European Union, and the United Kingdom initially, and availability will begin in 2022 for the rest of the world.
