Phil Spencer said he wants Xbox to return to Killer Instinct at some point, when the time is right.
Rare's excellent series of fighting games was revived in 2013, after being abandoned for almost two decades. The reboot eventually went to the Windows Store in 2016 and Steam in 2017, but since then there has been relatively little support. “There are so many good games in our catalog that we would love to revisit,” Spencer said. "The response when we did KI at the Xbox One launch was fantastic. Not everyone who was within the Xbox organization saw what that game could become. I'll just say, Matt (Booty) and I commented many times KI and where we would like to go.
"We want to keep doing something with KI in our hearts and minds. It's about finding the right team and the right opportunity. But it's not out of lack of desire on our part that we're not doing more. of KI, because we love the franchise and the response from the community. "
